Mr. Herapath, the eminent chemist of Bristol, has addressed a letter on the subject to the Bristol Mercury,in which he suggests a mode not altogether unknown of making the diseased roots useful-
"My attention has been given to the disease which has shown itself so extensively among the growing potatoes. Buchanan, a corporal in the Seventy-third Regiment,stationed at Cork, has killed a young soldier, named Frisby. Buchanan hadrecently been reduced from the rank of sergeant, for bad conduct; and was under arrest for absence on the evening of Tuesday week, having been ordered to remain a prisoner in his room. It is supposed that he resolved to shoot some sergeant in revenge for his faults having been reported; he loaded his musket at "tattoo" hour,and fired npon the parade where the sergeants were collecting; bnt the shot struck Frisby, who is a private, and he died from its effects the adidas porsche design next day.
